Our Faith
God
Born-Again Mormons worship one God who consists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We Believe that God is Spirit and man must worship Him in spirit and truth. We believe that God has never had a beginning and will never have an end.
Jesus
Born-Again Mormons are emphatic that Jesus is God in the flesh and there is no other way to the Father but by faith in the Son. Jesus, and Jesus alone, is the Way, the Truth and the Life for all mankind.
Bible
Born-Again Mormons embrace the Bible as the only inerrant Word of God. Any reader can be inspired by God through any reputable translation.
Salvation
Born-Again Mormons claim that man is saved by grace through God-given faith in Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Regeneration
Born-Again Mormons believe that every human being must be spiritually reborn in order to see the kingdom of God. We believe that man is immediately regenerated in the spirit by rebirth, progressively regenerated in the soul, and ultimately regenerated in the body. We believe that God dwells in the spirit of all regenerated men and women.
Works
Born-Again Mormons believe that important spiritual works of love will follow them that truly believe. We reject the idea that any sort of works can save a person in the kingdom of God except the work of Jesus through His life, on the cross and by His resurrection.
Resurrection
Born-Again Mormons believe in the literal resurrection of every human being.
The Book of Mormon
Born-Again Mormons recognize the Book of Mormon as a piece of 19th century literary fiction aimed at teaching Jesus Christ. We reject the story of its origins.
Other LDS Books of Scripture
Born-Again Mormons recognize no other book but the Bible as the Word of God, but agree that other books have the ability to move man toward Him.
Modern Revelation
Born-Again Mormons recognize prophecy as a gift of the spirit but not as a means of providing new canon to the world. All revelation must therefore comply with the existing Word of God. The spiritual gift of prophecy is not limited to certain men.
The Church
Born-Again Mormons believe that the church of Jesus Christ is made up of a body of regenerated believers who worship God from an assortment of denominational modes from all over the world. We reject the idea that the true church of Jesus Christ is found in a single denomination with its associated doctrines, ordinances, buildings, assets, membership rolls or dogmas.
Priesthood
Born-Again Mormons recognize the LDS priesthood as an officiating authority for the Mormon Church organization but not as the power to act in God's name on earth, nor as an authority to which non-Mormon Christians need to submit. We embrace Jesus Christ as our sole and sufficient High Priest, and understand all true priesthood to end and begin in and through Him.
Temples
Born-Again Mormons believe that spiritually regenerated man is the temple in which God dwells through the justification and sanctification of Jesus Christ. We reject the concept of physical edifices which serve as holy stations for the performance of vicarious ordinance work for the dead.
Baptism
Born-Again Mormons embrace the idea of baptism and strongly recommend the practice to all regenerated believers as an outward sign of a life committed to God. We reject the idea that baptism is necessary for salvation.
Marriage and Family
Born-Again Mormons completely trust God regarding our heavenly associations with earthly loved ones. We reject the doctrine or practice of celestial marriage and see it as an idea/concept of man which ultimately limits faith and speaks beyond the pale of biblical truth.
Religion
Born-Again Mormons acknowledge the Biblical command to congregate and believe organized religion can be a benefit to man and earthly societies. We reject the idea that any organized religious practice, demand, ordinance or rite is needed for salvation. Additionally, we are careful to limit religious intervention in our relationship to God through Jesus Christ.
Laws of the Land
Born-Again Mormons believe in following the laws of the land. We believe in being obedient and honestly submissive to governments, courts, and communal law so long as such obedience does not conflict with biblical truth.
Membership in the Church
Born-Again Mormons believe in actively supporting the LDS Church in an effort to bring other members to the Lord. We will do all that is asked of us except teach certain LDS theologies and/or sing certain LDS hymns which are in direct conflict with biblical truth.
Nation of Israel
Born-Again Mormons possess an enduring love for the Nation of Israel, support their right to a biblically justified homeland and appreciate their need for the Messiah.
Word of Wisdom
Born-Again Mormons accept the Word of Wisdom as sound advice for living and highly recommend individuals incorporate it into their daily lives. However, obedience to this doctrine has no bearing on salvation. What Born-Again Mormons eat, drink or take into their bodies is between themselves and the Lord. Drunkenness is considered an activity in opposition to biblical truth.
Sabbath Day
Born-Again Mormons believe everyday is a day of peace and rest for the regenerated believer through the Lord Jesus Christ. Sabbath-Day observances are legalistic and have served no redeeming purpose since the ascension of our Lord. We readily accept the opportunity to congregate on the Lord's Day, however, and look forward to worshipping God with like-minded believers.
Standards
Born-Again Mormons believe in following biblical standards of character regarding dress, behavior, decorum and lifestyle. We reject any set standard of appearance, dress, mode or fashion constructed by the ideals of man or used to control the liberty of others.
Matter
Born-Again Mormons believe that God created everything "ex nihilo" or from nothing. We reject any doctrine relating to an infinite regression of Gods or eternal matter.
Plural Marriage
Born-Again Mormons believe that the model God has for men and women who choose to marry is that of Adam and Eve - one man and one woman. We reject all facets of plural marriage as philosophies of. We reject the ideal that marriage is required for a believer to be accepted by God.
Sin
Born Again Mormons believe that all of God's human creations have sinned and will continue to sin, excepting Jesus Christ.
Satan
Born-Again Mormons agree with the Bible that Satan was a created angel (a cherubim) who remains accountable to God. We reject the idea that Satan (Lucifer) is a created being on the same order as man.
Man
Born-Again Mormons recognize man as a creation of God who only becomes a child of God through spiritual rebirth.
Heaven
Born-Again Mormons accept the idea of heaven and reject any and all descriptions of it outside of biblical authority.
Hell
Born-Again Mormons accept the biblical concepts of hell, while remembering that our God is an all-good God.
Other
Born-Again Mormons seek to refrain from dogmatic positions on issues of personal choice and liberty. We remain free to live as we feel the Lord directs according to personal gifts, talents and tastes. We do not subscribe to any specific political party as a whole; we do not believe it is our place to condemn other people. We do subscribe to preaching Jesus Christ crucified and risen; we are committed to follow Him and will speak of Him to all who will hear. We do believe that true followers of Jesus are commanded to love one another. We refuse to let the choices people make in this life affect our Christian duty to love and serve them.
